Ohio gasoline prices remain low, slightly under national average

Despite being struck with higher prices last week, Oklahoma still has the lowest average in the country, at $1.44 per gallon. Denver metro’s average ticked down 1.1 cents to $1.50 per gallon.

But gas prices at one East Ridge station, the Tip Top Food Market, fell to $1.34 per gallon today and GasBuddy.com counted more than a dozen area stations were gas is selling today for only $1.35 per gallon.

Anchorage- $2.08/g, down 4.1 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.12/g.

GasBuddy said California refineries switching over to production of pricier spring/summer-blend gasoline will put pressure on Golden State prices to rise, but that could offset to some degree by a recent plunge in wholesale fuel prices in Southern California.

“Inventories for gasoline and crude are extremely high right now-so, that’s going to help buffer any large spikes we might see” Speer said, adding we could still see prices here continue to trickle down for a little while longer. This is 88 cents cheaper than a year ago, according to the Associated Press. “Oil prices also have been up over the past week, and that has had an impact on gas prices in the south. Of course, supplies are still very abundant and oil still has the potential to drop, so nothing is guaranteed”. Refineries use this time of year to conduct maintenance for the busier summer driving season.

The $1.51 figure is the lowest since 2009 prices.

The gasoline prices dropped to their lowest since 2003 as the global glut shook the market at a prior date before the last survey.
