The Boston Globe reported Wednesday Kasich will not be in SC when the primary results are being counted Saturday.
Republican presidential candidate John Kasich was brought to tears during a rally in Clemson, South Carolina, on Thursday after a supporter revealed his emotional story and his admiration for the candidate.
As the Globe notes, Kasich could use the help from Boston’s deep pockets.
Kasich’s campaign received a jolt after his strong second-place finish in New Hampshire.
Haley’s endorsement was considered the most coveted among SC politicians.
Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas came in second in the poll with 18 percent, followed by Rubio, Dr. Ben Carson with 8 percent, Kasich, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who lags at 4 percent.
The hire takes place during the heat of the SC primary battle.
A young man, who did not identify himself by name, drove up to the event from the University of Georgia to tell Kasich that during a dark time in his life, Kasich’s candidacy gave him hope.
A person close to the Republican governor with direct knowledge of her decision told The Associated Press she will endorse Rubio at his event Wednesday night in Lexington County.
The only other GOP candidates to have visited the state during the campaign season so far are Trump and Rand Paul, who has since dropped out of the race.
A spokesman says Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders doesn’t “believe that gender should be the reason we vote for or against anyone”.
