40-year-old Shawn Grate is charged with killing Stacey Stanley and the second woman whose body was found in an Ashland home Tuesday night and has yet to be identified.

Police discovered two bodies at a Covert Court home and Grate led them to a third body in Madison Township.

One of the victims whose body was found in the home was Stacey Hicks Stanley, 43, of Huron County, Ohio, according to court documents.

Grate has been charged with kidnapping and two counts of murder.

It’s unclear whether Grate has an attorney.

An eight-minute period of silence also occurred as the woman, who had untied herself, feared she’d been caught, Ashland Police said. Griffith went missing August 16 in the area of WalMart and Aldi’s in Ashland.

When asked by the judge if he had any concerns about the condition of the bond Grate said, “No, it sounds fair”.

Grate is being held in Ashland County jail. Police haven’t identified the second body.

The woman said the man had a stun gun, and she was afraid of waking him.

Grate does have a previous criminal record of misdemeanors. She said they were walking near her apartment when Grate abducted her.

During Friday’s hearing, Forsthoefel told Grate if he were able to post his bond, he couldn’t have contact with the rescued victim and would be constrained to a 9 p.m.to 7 a.m. curfew. In 1999, he was accused of abduction when he allegedly held two women hostage with a carving knife as one of them was holding his newborn daughter.

Grate led investigators to a third person’s remains at a property near Mansfield in neighboring Richland County, police said.
