Desha is charged with murder in connection with the death of 53-year-old Deborah J. Pearl of Twinsburg. Desha’s Jeep flipped several times and landed on its roof about 50 feet from Pearl’s auto, police said.
“After both cars stopped, the suspect got out of his auto with a rifle and shot Pearl from the passenger side of her vehicle”, the television station said.
Desha, though, was arrested on a felony gun charge and was suspected of having drugs in his vehicle as well, but was released in plenty of time to murder Deborah Pearl in cold blood.
A woman who police say was shot and killed moments after her auto crashed into the suspect’s vehicle has been identified as Deborah Pearl. “The man then shot her with a rifle several times”.
The man crawled out of the Jeep with a rifle in his hand, witnesses told police.
Pearl was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 8:18 a.m.
“It was a senseless killing”, witness Barbara Bartels told Cleveland 19 TV station.
According to Cleveland 19, “Pearl worked at the Original Harley Diner, where her co-workers and friends – like her family – are devastated and left with many questions”.
The shooting comes after Matthew Desha wasbooked in June with one felony count of carrying a concealed weapon and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Solon police arrested Desha in the vicinity of the accident without incident.
