Ohio State Buckeyes are driven by loss to Michigan State
“Otherwise we wouldn’t be 48-4 (under Meyer)”. On Monday morning, Elliott issued an apology via his Twitter account, saying his emotions got the best of him.

While Ohio State has gone backward as an offense, the Alabama defense is so much better at every level than the unit the Buckeyes shredded in last season’s playoff semifinal.
The play-calling was baffling, of course, and everybody knows it, as the Buckeyes went ultra-conservative and refused to challenge Michigan State downfield, letting the Spartans’ talented defensive line dictate the flow of the game. Meyer isn’t going to suspend Elliott, and he shouldn’t.
Now I can understand Elliott not coming back next year. “It’s just said and done and we haven’t really talked about it at all”. I don’t know what was going on or what they were seeing. “We’re going to go out there and do everything we can to get a win”. “We can’t do that”.
But no team in college football possesses a collection of talent and depth as close to Alabama’s on both sides of the ball as Ohio State does. Did you break out a little alternative Rammer Jammer at the expense of your nemesis, Urban Meyer, who’s cost Nick Saban a shot at two more national titles? It just hurts. It hurts a lot because of how we lost. How did that turn out? And even though their season is not over with this loss, because a loss to number nine ranked Michigan State is not a awful loss in the eyes of the committee, some of the Ohio State players are acting like it is. Finding the best way to beat the Wolverines should be the focus, not dissecting Elliott’s comments for cracks in the program’s culture.
Ohio State has dominated the series in recent years, winning 10 of the last 11 games. That caused the Buckeyes coaching staff to limit the junior running back’s carries, giving him two in the second half. “Kind of show what this program is about”. “We have a long way to go before we reach maximum capacity”.
What can Ohio State do?
For Michigan and Ohio State, they’re both hoping for a Penn State upset over the Spartans, which would mean that the victor of their game will move on to face Iowa. “It may have been wrong at the moment, but it was what he felt like he needed to say”.
Meyer also said Ohio State couldve thrown more, even in the bad weather.
Bosa said one loss won’t change that. “There’s a lot of football left to be played”.
“We’re just not – we’re not operating at maximum capacity, is the key word, and we’re still 10-1”, Meyer said. “This will be an old story”. The win marks Iowa’s seventh victory this season over a team who now has a record below.500, and while Purdue actually outgained Iowa in total yards (405 to 387), the Hawkeyes were able to jump out to an early 20-0 lead and never relinquished it. Despite the wind chill being near zero and nearly eight inches of snow hitting Iowa City on Friday night, the Hawkeyes’ passing attack still made an impact in the harsh conditions as C.J. Beathard tossed three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Maybe Elliott divided the locker room.
