Ohio State Buckeyes ranked sixth in AP Top 25 preseason poll
Alabama was No. 1 in the AP top 25 followed by Clemson, Oklahoma and Florida State.

Michigan State is 12th.
A year ago, Oklahoma entered the season at No. 19 in The Associated Press preseason top 25 poll and exceeded expectations, earning a berth in the College Football Playoff.
And, while we’re here, a word of warning for the Sooners as well.
The Sooners received four first place votes to Alabama’s 33 and Clemson’s 16.
Florida State and LSU, at Nos.
In ESPN’s Way-Too-Early Top 25, released back in May, the Sooners checked in at No. 5 as well.
Oklahoma State is ranked No. 21 in the poll.
The rest of the top 10 after OU includes Florida State, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, Stanford, Tennessee and Notre Dame.
Oklahoma, however, has not fared well as of late when it has been ranked in the preseason AP top five, losing at least three games the last four times it has happened.

The Southeastern Conference led all conferences in number of ranked teams, with six, and number of top-10 teams. The ACC, Big 12 and Big Ten have four each. The AAC’s Houston, at No. 15, is the only representative from a Group of Five conference.
