Ohio State Football’s Secret Weapon Is Curtis Samuel
“We want to be much more balanced”.

J.T. Barrett is back to rewriting the record books for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
The Buckeyes ran the ball almost two-thirds of the time in 2015, leaning mostly on Elliott, who averaged about 140 yards per game, and quarterbacks J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones. Redshirt freshman Mike Weber rushed for 136 yards in his first start as a Buckeye. A Texas Tech assistant for three seasons after a long career in Texas high school football, the 44-year-old Jinks took the helm at Bowling Green this season after Dino Babers was hired away by Syracuse. They do return a Heisman Trophy candidate in J.T. Barrett at quarterback.
And on it went on a sun-splashed Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.
“All losses are hard to get over. But I’ve got to realize, we weren’t playing our best guys out there”.
“I know what we’re walking into, but you don’t know what this ’16 Ohio State team going to be, and you don’t know what this ’16 Bowling Green team is going to be”, Jinks said.

Daniels and Wadley each scored twice in the first half, and Jerminic Smith’s 12-yard TD reception put the Hawkeyes ahead 35-7 early in the third quarter. But the points just kept coming.
Second, is this finally the year that Ohio State’s H-back position lives up to the talent Meyer has recruited there? If it does it will be JT Barrett under center with Cardale Jones gone who proved he could run and throw which should make OSU fans happy. They covered the -4.5-point spread as favorites, while the total score (72) made winners of OVER bettors.
Three starters, one a true freshman and another a redshirt freshman, plus another player moving from guard to center – it’s not insane to think there could be an adjustment period. “These young guys got a taste of what it’s like”.
Meyer said time will tell if Ohio State’ offense, and its defense which held Bowling Green to 244 total yards, will operate so efficiently every week. We’ll see how they follow up Saturday’s performance. We have very good personnel. And it was. So let’s go back and attack them. “They played pretty good”, Meyer said. That was the beginning of a 77-10 route that featured five more touchdown passes by Barrett but only one more catch by Hill. The skill set that Samuel brings to the team is something to that of Miller’s: Speed, ability to catch the ball and ability to run with the ball. And it averaged 77 yards a game more than in 2015. But, he now feels that he is back to his original form and has become more of a complete receiver to give Barrett and the Buckeyes a big weapon on offense after losing top wide receiver Mike Thomas to the NFL. Weber’s first college carry was an 18-yard run, which set the tone for the rest of his day.

Joe Burrow’s 36-yard touchdown pass to freshman running back Demario McCall on the first play of the fourth quarter made it 63-10. Those looking for Meyer to apologize for running up the score may not be satisfied. The Falcons will open the home portion of their 2016 schedule next week in Bowling Green against North Dakota.
