Human rights violations in India-held Kashmir are not an internal matter of the Indian state, said Iyad Amin Madani, secretary-general of the 57-member Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

He said the peace would return to Jammu and Kashmir in particular and south Asian region in general only after the Kashmir issue is treated as a “political issue” and India and Pakistan initiate peace talks to resolve it “permanently”. “But after the partition, India forcibly sent Army to Jammu and Kashmir”.

While dismissing fears that India’s newly-articulated support for the Baloch cause would trigger a proxy war in the region, Karzai said that the Pakistani establishment needed to see the gravity of the situation that has led to large-scale violence and mass killings. “I want to change that”, Modi said on Monday.
