O.J. Simpson is smiling for the camera in a newly released mug shot by Nevada’s Department of Corrections. An official told ABC News that the new mughot was taken to keep their records updated.
The photo was taken at Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada where he is serving a 33-year sentence for armed robbery for trying to steal sports memorabilia. He is eligible for parole next year. Years before that, he was acquitted in the murder of former wife Nicole Brown Simpson and friend Ron Goldman in the 1994 criminal trial. Simpson: Made in America, a documentary series that starts on Saturday. In 1997, a jury found Simpson civilly liable for the slayings.
Simpson’s life is the subject of ESPN’s O.J.
The photo is the first released of Simpson since 2013.
