Oklahoma Backup QB Austin Kendall Says Ohio State Plays ‘Basic’ Defense

He suffered a season-ending broken right ankle against MI late in that dynamic 2014 season, and Cardale Jones took over and led the Buckeyes to the national title. According to the backup signal-caller, Ohio State has a “really basic defense”.

I’ll give Austin a bit of a break here.

General view of an Ohio State Buckeyes helmet prior to the 2015 Sugar Bowl against the Alabama Crimson Tide at Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Before that, youd have to go back to the championship game after the 2008 season, when Floridas Tim Tebow and Oklahomas Sam Bradford squared off.

Absolutely not. Urban Meyer has the utmost respect for coach Bob Stoops and knows that Oklahoma is a very good team.

“Just the caliber of player he is, he has a lot of character, I know he was the leader past year as a younger guy and he knows how to take control of his offense so it’s going to be a challenge”, Parker said.

“This is kind of the opportunity you come to a place like this to play in games like this, where everybodys watching on a Saturday night, ” Mayfield said. It’s going to be biggest factor in the game, if you ask me. Barrett has thrown for just shy of 500 yards in the first two games of the season.

Quarterback J.T. Barrett has been strong, but has not been tested as well.

Urban Meyer spoke about this because of the Houston game and Tom Herman being a Buckeyes staff member a few years.

Kendall has 108 yards and two touchdowns in mop-up duty, and while the freshman isn’t likely to see much action Saturday unless Mayfield gets injured, Ohio State defenders have reason to put a little extra force behind their hits if he does.

“The biggest thing is he’s a creator of plays”, Meyer said. It took over 40 carries to do that, so that is not very efficient at all.

For most of the offseason, the Buckeyes fretted about who would play, what would work, and how quickly its defensive backs would improve. “If we flawless the schemes, we can come out with the win at Oklahoma”.

“Did I think Malik Hooker would be playing at the level he’s at?” Following this game, the Ohio State they will come home and host the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and Indiana Hoosiers. I have it OU 38-35.
