Oklahoma will face No. 4 Auburn in a best-of-three championship series, which is set to start on Monday at 7 p.m. and go through Wednesday if necessary.

“We knew it was going to come down to the very finish…”

Bryan Terry/The Oklahoman Louisiana State’s Bianka Bell runs home after hitting a two-run home run in the first inning against Georgia.

Betsa was dominant for most of the game, but she cracked just a bit in the third inning.

Top of the Seventh, with runners on the corners, SEC player of the year Kasey Cooper knocked a double into right and the Tigers narrowed that deficit to one.

Bell hit a two-run homer in the first inning and a solo homer in the fifth off Georgia starter Chelsea Wilkinson. Hugo then flipped to the shortstop at second to force Carsone, who was also ruled out for running out of the base path. A Shay Knighten homer in the sixth added another run for good measure and the Sooners cruised to a 7-3 semifinal win. The batter, Jade Rhodes, reached first base, then vacated it. But Myers knew all along the run would count. We just talk about the process, and you couldn’t be more proud of the fight they had from game one, how much we’ve learned, to today just leaving it all out there. Podany ran for Gipson and scored the winning run on a throw home from FSU third baseman Jessica Warren.

Thanks to a big fourth inning in which they scored four runs, the Tigers were able to move on to Sunday action in their half of the bracket despite losing to MI on Friday night. Now, he’s got another shot in just his third year at Auburn. However, Sydni Emanuel’s bunt attempt went right back to Walters, who threw her out just in time at first to end the threat, and secure Auburn’s 2-0 record so far in the WCWS. Carosone ran out of the base path trying to avoid a tag for an automatic out for out two, allowing the run to score.

Carley Hoover pitched a complete game for LSU (52-17). And if she doesn’t hit her way on, she has no qualms about getting hit to get oWilln base. The senior allowed seven hits – four through the sixth inning – and struck out five.

Auburn scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat Georgia 4-3 on Saturday in the Women’s College World Series.

They must beat the unbeaten Auburn side – ranked fourth in the NCAA – twice to advance to the College World Series championship game.
