The game between two of college football’s most decorated programs will kick off at 7:30 on Saturday night at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, and will be televised on FOX.

Obviously, a win means the Buckeyes remain undefeated and enjoy a week off before beginning conference play.

Mother nature played a key in the game.

It is two games into the college football season and the Ohio State Buckeyes are 2-0; Pretty good start.

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Ohio State is the clear favorite in this game, as the Buckeyes are getting odds of -28.5 points against the Golden Hurricanes.

Ohio State has won 18 consecutive games in opponents’ stadiums.

Stoops insists he was a bigger fan of the Sooners 40 years ago than anyone else. Tulsa has an explosive offense – and thus the Buckeyes’ defensive effort was certainly impressive – but it had one of the nation’s worst defenses past year, ending with a 55-52 loss to Virginia Tech in the Independence Bowl.

Safety Malik Hooker is leading FBS in interceptions with three through two games and cornerback Marshon Lattimore had two picks against Tulsa. “They are taking a serious look at him”.

“This is definitely a step up in athleticism we’re going against”, Schiano said. We can get there with one loss. So I’m sure Oklahoma will see that, too, try to throw some of that stuff at us and catch us off balance a little bit.

“It feels good not letting anybody in the zone”. They’re a great team that has great athletes.

FILE – In this November 28, 2015, file photo, Oklahoma cornerback Jordan Thomas (7) intercepts a pass intended for Oklahoma State’s Brandon Sheperd (7) in the second quarter of an NCAA college football game in Stillwater, Okla. Afterward, Meyer used the old “I’ve got to see the film” response when asked to analyze his offense’s struggles. The Oklahoma Sooners ground game is averaging 179 yards per contest, and Joe Mixon leads the way with 157 yards and one touchdown. J.T. Barrett completed 14 of 22 passes for 149 yards. The silver bullets have certainly erased those concerns from their minds after the first two games of the year. Barrett did rush for a pair of touchdowns in the second half.

Elflein said the young offensive linemen are working this week to right the wrongs of the first half against the Golden Hurricane. Schematically, not as much because we get the same videotape that they have. I don’t think we underestimated them at all.

While his heart was with Texas – he probably would have signed with the Longhorns if they’d offered – Barrett did watch some Oklahoma games while growing up and had a few recruiting conversations with their coaching staff. “They love to be coached”. Oklahoma will enter the playoff picture once again by knocking off the mighty Buckeyes.

Mayfield, the Sooners 2015 Heisman Trophy finalist, was a frequent question posed to the Buckeyes from both sides of the ball, but it was Schiano who focused on the Sooners’ cohesion on offense. “We’ve got to establish the running game. We have to stay calm, have a great week of practice and do what we do best”.

Ohio State’s lack of experience was the big question for this season, but plenty of underclassmen have impressed in the first two games. He touched the ball only once in the first quarter – a one-yard carry – and didn’t have a reception the entire first half. The Buckeyes will rely on his steady veteran leadership this week playing in front of a hostile crowd. He has one national title and seven Big 12 championships. Meyer said Samuel has grown into the hybrid back position and possesses the size and speed now that’s reflected in his production after two games. He’s a dual threat as a runner and pass catcher that the offensive coaches can move around the field in an attempt to create mismatches.
