An Oklahoma man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after admitting to investigators that he strangled his stepfather by pulling his underwear over his head.

Brad Lee Davis, 34, of McLoud, Okla., was sentenced Thursday, the Shawnee News-Star reports.
He was accused of killing his stepfather, Denver Lee St. Clair, after a fight in December 2013.
The “atomic wedgie” led to St. Clair’s asphyxiation death.
Davis was initially charged with first-degree murder in January 2014, and pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter in May.
Canavan Jr. chose the prison term recommended by prosecutors and said he found it disturbing that, instead of helping St. Clair, Davis took cell phone photos of his stepdad as he lay unconscious and gurgling.
At the sentencing this week, Judge John G.
Court papers state Davis first claimed he was trying to defend himself during a fight with St. Clair inside his mobile home in McCloud.
The police affidavit stated Davis, a former Marine, “grabbed St. Clair’s underwear and gave him an ‘atomic wedgie.’ Davis allegedly pulled the elastic waistband of St. Clair’s underwear over his head and around his neck”.

Authorities also alleged that Davis sent a text message to a friend before the fight, writing that he would hurt St. Clair because he had “nothing to lose”.
