Oklahoma overwhelming preseason pick for 10th Big 12 title
The media that covers the Big 12 believes Texas will be a middle-of-the-road team in 2016. On offense, fullback Winston Dimel was the lone selection. He caught 50 passes for 868 yards and six touchdowns despite being second on the team’s pecking order at the position behind Corey Coleman, who is now in the NFL. The Longhorns have put together stellar recruiting classes under head coach Charlie Strong for the last two years and won two of their last four games last season including a narrow three point loss to Texas Tech. No Kansas players made the cut.

The Wildcats last produced five preseason all-conference players in 2013.
The Big 12 also announced individual preseason awards on Wednesday, leading up to the league’s media days next week in Dallas.
Oklahoma featured nine members: quarterback Baker Mayfield, running back Samaje Perine, tight end Mark Andrews, offensive lineman Orlando Brown, defensive lineman Charles Walker, linebacker Jordan Evans, defensive back Steven Parker, defensive back Jordan Thomas and punter Austin Seibert. Texas linebacker Malik Jefferson was named preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
