Knight was the Sooners’ starter for much of the last two seasons before Mayfield beat him out in preseason camp.Mayfield, who had vaulted into the Heisman Trophy race with his performance in a win at Baylor a week earlier, appeared to suffer a head injury after taking a hit from TCU linebacker Ty Summers early in the second quarter. He has completed 69 percent of his passes this season, with 32 touchdowns and five interceptions.

The Oklahoma Sooners are focusing on their game Saturday against TCU and trying to ignore the discussion about the College Football Playoff’s perceived bias against Big 12 teams.

Although OU offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley contends that Knight is capable of running all the plays in the Sooner offense that Mayfield does, it was obvious that Oklahoma went very conservative in its play selection with the backup Knight in to begin the second half. Had the Frogs converted either one of them, they’d be playing Baylor next weekend for the Big 12 title. And he didn’t look settled, tripping over himself on one play and going the wrong way on another.
“That threw us off in the second half”. Jaden Oberkrom connected on his only field-goal try from 43 yards out, and the Horned Frogs didn’t give up any huge returns.
However, things quickly changed in toward the end of the first half. “If we continue to play well, that means your quarterback is going to get a few recognition”. Quarterback Mason Rudolph and the OSU Cowboys are coming off a close win over over Iowa State by a 35-31 final score. TCU took possession first in the game.

In other words, TCU is reeling, and OU is riding high. Making a few mistakes here and there, all hope seemed lost…until Ahmad Thomas intercepted a pass. Oklahoma found a way to score pushing the number to 24 points off turnovers.
