Old stock photos of a teenage John Boyega spotted around university campuses
However, the University may want to be a bit tired of giving students the false hope that they too could one day fight with the Resistance in a galaxy far, far away.

You know him as FN-2187 – or Finn – in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, but before he joined the First Order, a teenage John Boyega posed for some stock photos that are still being used today.
A fan spotted Boyega in a different picture from that shoot on a poster at the University of Nebraska Lincoln, and posted the image on Imgur.
The “Star Wars” sensation was photographed in an undated series for Getty Images, and said that he used the pocket money to buy a new pair of sneakers.
Lest you think the image was somehow faked or not an actual image of Boyega, the actor confirmed the validity of the image on Twitter on Friday.
About five or six years ago, the stock photo provided by the Getty Images ended up in a promotional poster for UNL’s Career Services office, UNL spokesman Steve Smith said.
The photographer Chris Shmidt revealed he took the photos on Facebook. “It turns out John Boyega did quite well afterwards”.

In the photo, Boyega is seen wearing a grey cardigan over a white collared shirt and black slacks, as he sits on a bench with three other young models. “The Air Force 1’s lasted about 3 years looooool”.
