After a rather tumultuous last couple years under Stephen Keshi, the Nigerian Football Federation seems to have finally turned a page by appointing former worldwide Sunday Oliseh to lead the national team.
The 26-year-old, who was on target in Super Eagles’ 2-0 victory against Chad, made a goal scoring debut in the English Premier League in Watford’s played a 2-2 draw against Everton at the Goodison Park.
“Ighalo is in our plans; it is just that for this first game against Tanzania, we invited only two players for each position and we are trying to bring in competition“.
So that’s all rather interesting as far as the Chelsea futures of the two men may be, depending on how much they value their global careers.
“I know the full-back positions have always been an issue which I intend to address quickly”, Oliseh said. It’s our session and what we are doing is to introduce to them how we want to play. We have to take a look at them again and see how it goes. “We know that Nigeria are one of the big teams in Africa”.

“We have to get everybody on ground first but we are also realistic because we have to get the train on track first; so, we are starting gradually”, Oliseh explained. “So, I will leave you to judge from this”, he concluded.
