Olly Murs sorry for X Factor elimination blunder

Co-host Caroline Flack was expected to reveal the eliminated contestant by drawing a card from an envelope, but Murs, 31, got confused and revealed Michael was leaving the competition.

Former X Factor champion Steve Brookstein caused controversy on Twitter last night when he poked fun at Olly Murs’ presenting error with a joke referencing HIV.

Now, he’s set to take to the stage this weekend to perform his latest single “Kiss Me”, and evidently enough time has passed for Caroline to send-up his blunder. “This year, again when I sang another original, it was the same reaction and I’ve got so many originals”.

The hopeful was axed from the singing competition on Sunday (15Nov15) after receiving the lowest amount of public vote.

However, even before the results were handed to him, Murs already revealed them, saying, “Unfortunately Monica you are going home”. Happens to us all.
