As expected, Olympians and athletes have very strict diets heading into major competitions, so there is no surprise that Serasinghe took full advantage of being able to eat a McDonald’s once again.

So what happens when they’re done with being at the Olympics?
The Telegraph estimates that if Serasinghe consumed his entire junk food feast, it’d total about 8,000 calories.
Serasinghe said he was disappointed by the results of his and teammate Matthew Chau’s game against China Taipei ‘s Chia Hsin and Sheng Mu Lee during the Men’s Doubles on Sunday with a score of 14-21 and 19-21. It’s a well-deserved binge before he returns to training again. Adding, “Now it’s time to eat some junk food after months of eating clean!” Can’t wait to go back home to start training and keep on improving!. Definitely motivated me to fight hard on court everyday! Serasinghe flashes his abs in the picture, as if to say, “This is exactly where I’m putting all this food-in my most chiseled belly”.
Free McDonald’s was on offer at the athletes’ village in Rio which proved extremely popular with athletes, with queues stretching out the door.
“At the beginning of the Olympics, the lines are short with a few weightlifters, track and field throwers and marathon runners frequenting the Big Macs”, Melanie wrote in news.com.au.
Plus, as pointed out by Mashable, Usain Bolt revealed in his biography that he ate 1,000 chicken nuggets during 10 days at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, where he won three gold medals and set three world records.
But binging on McDonald’s could be an Olympic sport of its own.
