Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez returns home to fanfare

If that’s true, that’ll be an incredible lineup that’ll have us salivating at the mouth!

Laurie Hernandez won a gold medal and a silver medal at the Rio Olympics, but that doesn’t mean she’s immune to being starstruck.

ET Online confirms that Hernandez will be competing on the show, but there’s no word yet if her Team USA teammate and other rumored DWTS hopeful hopeful, Simone Biles, will be joining her.

This could be one of the most star-studded years of all time!

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and his brother, Val, will also return to the dance floor, along with Emma Slater, Witney Carson, Sharna Burgess, Artem Chigvintsev, Lindsay Arnold, Sasha Farber, Gleb Savchenko and Allison Holker. Not only did fellow U.S. Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson do extremely well in season 8 and season 15, Laurie is the second Olympian to join season 23.

In addition to all that (and if you want to feel really old) Hernandez says she has been watching Dancing with the Stars since she was “a little kid”.

Sure Laurie Hernandez can perform a mean beam routine, but can she foxtrot with the best of them? Dancing with the Stars’ Instagram account hinted about her participation on Thursday when teasing who will be paired with pro partner Artem Chigvintsev. “I absolutely adore @lzhernandez02 just gorgeous”, he tweeted on August 10.

While there’s no word on whether or not pro Mark Ballas will return, it sounds like he could make a ideal partner for Hernandez.
