In an excerpt of her memoir published inSports Illustrated, Favor Hamilton recounts their night with Pearl.
She discussed with her husband about treatment of her bipolar disorder that went undiagnosed and had played a big role in her behavior, when she looked for excitement in her life.
She told People magazine, “My bipolar was driven toward sex”.
“Falling down at the Olympics is where my spiral down started”, she said in the People interview published Wednesday.

Hamilton’s book “Fast Girl” is due out September 14.
She had dedicated the race to brother Dan Favor, a manic-depressive who had committed suicide in 1999 after he stopped taking medication.
The 47-year-old mom reveals she was drawn to the oldest profession after giving her husband, Mark Hamilton, an unusual 20th wedding anniversary gift.

She said they didn’t want to keep her in the dark and also didn’t want her overhearing something. When Hamilton’s prostitution was made public, many of her sponsors and awards were taken away from her. Today, Hamilton splits her time between Malibu, California and Madison, Wisconsin, where her husband Mark works as a real estate agent. “We’re doing 100 times better now”.
