Olympics Little Spaniard Marin breaks Asian grip on badminton gold
Spanish two-time defending world badminton champion Carolina Marin completed her mission at the Rio Olympics on Friday, coming from a game down in the women’s singles final to defeat India’s V. Sindhu Pusarla 19-21, 21-12, 21-15. Sindhu won the first set and Marin won the second set while the third set was totally an aggressive one.

Indian cricketer, Ravichandran Ashwin also wished Sindhu for her feat, as she became the fifth Indian woman to pick up a medal at the Olympic games. It was a little bit slow and sometimes you have to control everything on court.
India who sent their largest-ever contingent to Brazil and were facing the possibility of going home without a medal have seen their women athletes save face for the country. “I told her don’t think that you lost it”.
The first game was a neck to neck one. PV Sindhu went down fighting in the final of the women’s badminton singles at the Rio Olympics. Saina Nehwal had won bronze in badminton at London Olympics. “Next time she will go for gold”, said Ramana, a former volleyball player and Arjuna awardee. Sindhu then took advantage of a nervous Marin to get five points in succession to come back from 16-19 down to take the first game 21-19. It’s always there. I didn’t get really annoyed.
On Friday, Sindhu will be facing the biggest challenge of her sporting career as she faces Carolina Marin of Spain in the Rio Olympics 2016 final.
Along with wrestler Sakshi Malik, who won a bronze on August 18, Sindhu is so far one of the only medalists in this year’s Indian Olympic contingent, the largest the country has ever sent to the games.
He further added, “She has done us all proud by the kind of the effort she’s put in”.

“My life has certainly changed now after this silver”, Sindhu reacted after the victory ceremony. She has worked hard for this and I am happy that she achieved it. “I wish them greater glory in future”, Mr Ansari said. Right now, PV Sindhu is standing tall and strong in her way to the winning place.
