Rio de Janeiro is hosting South America’s first Olympic Games.

Details are top secret ahead of this Friday’s ceremony.

So brutal that supermodel Gisele Bündchen will apparently be ROBBED in the middle of the opening ceremony!

Because 3,000 specially invited guests attended a full dress rehearsal of the three-hour show and, although asked to “save the surprise” by refraining from taking photos or leaking details, you can not keep this sort of stuff to yourself: it’s like holding in a fart.

And while the Olypmic opening ceremony, historically, is a chance for a host country to shine a spotlight on its rich history and traditions, it sounds like Brazil is taking the unconventional approach to also reflect its social problems.

Another portion of the opening ceremony will allegedly feature performers acting as slaves.

In a section on the country’s urbanisation, viewers around the world will hear a song about the country’s high number of road accidents.

14 Bis are the biplanes which were invented by Brazilian aviation pioneer Santos Dumont in 1905-06.

In an interview with BBC, as shared by Vogue, ceremony director Leonardo Caetano disclosed that the performance of Gisele Bundchen “For the world, it will be an updated view of what being Carioca, of being a Brazilian, is”. The second is the “Garden”. “Brazil lives on the largest green reserve in the world and this is an important issue for us”. “It is an analogue opening ceremony”.

However, the spectacle – five years in the planning – is not short on ambition.

If Beijing 2008 was ostentatiously lavish and London quirky, Rio will try to capture Brazil’s wonderful diversity, love of music – and talent for fun.
