Olympics-Speed king Kenny just wants to walk the dogs
Among those who have gone through the program are Kenny, his fiancee and four-time Olympic champion Laura Trott, and former Tour de France victor Bradley Wiggins, who returned to track cycling to win his fifth gold medal in Rio.

“He has been untouchable this week, he has been on a different level”.
“He has dealt with extreme pressure – he is a true champion”.
One person tweeted: “Laura Trott’s sister gets a gold medal for the worst interview ever on Good Morning Britain“. Collectively, Great Britain’s track cyclists have amassed 11 medals over the past week-with every member of the team winning at least one.
Trott added: “We need two more. This is a really special moment – a phenomenal performance tonight and all week”.
Trott also won the team pursuit here, doing the same double she managed as a 20-year-old in London four yeas ago. She is now Britain’s most successful female with four golds.
“That’s what they’re working for, just working for the Olympics”.
“Success is always going to bring a bit of scepticism I suppose but we’ve got a clear conscience”, he said. “It’s the most incredible feeling and I couldn’t be prouder of the Great Britain cycling team that have performed”.
Kenny, 28, picked up three gold medals in Rio, competing in the keirin, sprint and team sprint events.
Things will be getting even better for the star couple later this year, although Kenny is not sure whether he will carry on to another Olympics or not.
Team GB now has 50 medals including 19 golds, nine behind the United States and two ahead of China.
While Trott was totally dominant in the omnium, Kenny’s keirin victory was controversial.
It appeared Kenny and Malaysia’s Awang Azizulhasni came close to illegally overtaking the motorpacing Derny bike before it had left the track with two-and-a-half laps to go.
With the World Championships taking place in London more than five months ago, there has certainly been ample time for the Brits to make the adjustments required. “I was just floating through it”, Kenny said.
His video evidence also spared Eilers on the second false start.
Trott admitted: “I was a nervous wreck before the race anyway – it’s always much harder watching somebody else than it is to do it yourself”.
“The amount of times that Laura kicked up a fuss on hills because dad and I were dropping her [and she said], “if you don’t slow down I’m going to ring mum, she can come and pick me up”.
For Trott and Kenny in particular, their intense focus has been all the more remarkable given they have had the distraction of trying to will each other on to victory in their respective events too.

British Cycling’s approach, Laura said, can be tough on the athletes, but she clarified that it’s well worth it in the long run.
