Olympics: Third gold as Biles wins vault title

“I’m not the next Usain Bolt or Michael Phelps, I’m the first Simone Biles”, she resolutely told CNN, enshrining her greatness in American Olympic history. Biles’ performance Sunday did nothing to discourage expectations that she will leave Rio with five gold medals, the most by a woman gymnast in a single Games.

“Hey, Simone, you did it”, Lauren Hernandez said to US teammate and Olympic Village roommate Simone Biles the morning after Biles won the Olympic all-around title. But she would prefer that people focus on the gold medal rather than her race. In 2014 she was a repeat success, taking home gold at the World Championship in all-around competition, as well as the Secret U.S. Classic. Not only is Manuel making waves for the Black community, she’s making wave for her country – not bad for a young girl from Texas who just celebrated her 20th birthday! She by far pulled off the most technically hard vaults of everyone else in the event, and her two routines were absolutely flawless. Maria Paseka of Russian Federation won the silver medal, and Giulia Steingruber of Switzerland won the bronze. She earned a insane high 16.033 on her second vault, making her average a massive 15.966.

She also addressed police brutality in the United states in her acceptance speech..

“She wasn’t actually happy with her first vault because she can do it better than that”, Boorman said. Despite that, Paseka scored over six tenths less than Biles on each vault. Yet Biles rose to the occasion and, unlike several other champions at the Games, she kept intact her humility and good character.

“She is so unique that she can beat everybody by two points”, added Comaneci. Her first go on the vault ended with a bit of a hop on her landing, earning her a 15.9. Mustafina’s score of 15.900 was just a touch better than Kocian’s score of 15.833. She held on for a bronze medal behind Maria Paseka of Russian Federation. She had two very clean vaults en route to her spot on the podium. The 41-year-old plans to keep training through Tokyo 2020 following a seventh-place finish on vault.

The American beat world champion Maria Paseka of Russian Federation with a score of 15.966 from her two vaults. She landed feet first but did count a full point deduction for the fall. With so much passion and dedication, she is truly a pleasure to watch and inspiration for generations to come.
