It is Trump’s moment – a week that few could have imagined when the NY billionaire entered the race a year ago. The lineup of speakers would be aimed at showing off “Trump the man”, his advisers said.
Melania Trump, the candidate’s wife, will also deliver a speech during prime time programming.

“Certainly the Bush family, we would have liked to have had them”. They’re part of the past.
“We have a long way to go”, Reince Priebus, the Republican National Committee chairman, said on “Fox News Sunday”, about the party’s minority voter outreach.
Whether this year’s confab meets that benchmark remains to be seen.
The Minnesota delegation announced it was on board with the plan.
Leaders and staff from the Republican National Committee and Trump campaign have not taken their foot off the gas since the Rules Committee late Thursday night voted several times to preserve rules binding delegates to state primary results – all but assuring the nomination for Trump.
Some rebellious delegates threatened to walk out if they are thwarted. Ted Cruz, the GOP primary runner-up to Trump, who has yet to endorse the nominee-to-be.
Asked about their difference of opinion about the war during their first joint interview on “60 Minutes”, Trump was dismissive.
“It’s not a movement,”Manafort said”. “It’s some rogue, recalcitrant delegates”.
While Trump is not scheduled to speak until the final night of the convention, organizers said that he may frequently appear. In a matter of weeks, Americans have seen deadly police shootings, a shocking ambush of police in Texas and escalating racial tensions, not to mention a failed coup in Turkey and gruesome Bastille Day attack in Nice, France.
Federal US law permits the open carrying of firearms, but some states including California, New York, Washington and Florida have state-imposed restrictions or outright prohibitions in place.
On Monday, he quickly linked the shooter to “radical Islam”, despite early indications the man had no known ties to any extremist group. The city also has drawn unwanted national attention because of high-profile police shootings and use-of-force incidents that helped lead to an agreement with the U.S. Justice Department to reform the 1,500-member police department.
Trump has promised to add some “showbiz” to what he says is the usual boring convention formula.
The city has banned a wide variety of potential weapons from the protest zone near the convention – including tennis balls, water pistols and bicycle locks – but can not limit firearms.

Kasich says OH governors don’t have the power to arbitrarily suspend federal and state constitutional rights or laws. The Buckeye State’s weapons laws allow for open carry, which means gun-owners can tout their unconcealed firearms almost anywhere they want, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Sunday.
