On Jon Stewart’s contributions to truth-telling and satire
But while the show is coming to an end so Stewart can pursue his career behind the camera in Hollywood, that doesn’t mean we can’t have one last hoorah.

Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” is a 20-time Emmy victor (including a record 10 consecutive wins for program), with a grand total of 60 Primetime Emmy nominations.
“Donald Trump is the candidate version of the hot dog-crust pizza”, Stewart said in July.
Stewart was the second anchor of the Comedy Central series.
The 52-year-old comedian has mocked Trump’s hair and gleefully ridiculed his comments on everything from immigrants to breast-feeding, none of which have stopped the star of “The Apprentice” from leading opinion polls among the 17 Republicans competing to represent their party in the November 2016 election.
Jon Stewart’s last show on The Daily Show is August. 6. “This sandwich with double corned beef and deli mustard on marble rye, it’s for Jon, but also it’s for all of us, to eat at Arby’s whenever the sad thoughts come back”.
After showing a plethora of headlines praising him for “eviscerating”, “pummeling” or “crushing” the show’s targets, Stewart attempted to take a victory lap, replaying footage of his commentary criticizing, among other things, lax prosecution against the banking industry.

I’m sure that many would say that’s untrue, that I feel that way only because Stewart and I are on the same side of the aisle.
