ON THE CHARGE Carson surges past Trump into GOP lead, poll finds

The audience in the Coors Event Center at the University of Colorado at Boulder was completely electrified with excitement as they launched into rounds of approving applause. I don’t know, I think I’m better looking than he is.

Trump, the fading front-runner, was pre-emptively complaining about the way CNBC would conduct the debate. Indeed, Bush seemed most animated Wednesday night when talking about his fantasy football team. And then Marco Rubio, who in my opinion was clearly the victor.

Rubio shot back that Bush never complained about all the votes missed in 2008 by Sen. And I don’t mean to be insulting, but I do describe people somehow well. I do thank Mr. Trump for insisting that it be limited to two and one half hours, though. The campaigns even complained about the size and quality of their holding rooms at the debate facility. Ted Cruz was fourth with 10 percent.

Carson’s original idea was apparently to have all candidates onstage, including those relegated to the undercard, and for each to give a five-minute opening statement.

Cruz used up his time without saying anything about the debt limit, and when the moderators moved on, he complained: “You don’t want to hear the answer”.

Trump was asked about the central argument of his candidacy, which is that his brains, energy and competence would allow him to accomplish improbable feats such as building a wall along the southern border and making Mexico pay for it, deporting 11 million illegal immigrants and cutting taxes without increasing the deficit.

“It’s not a very nicely asked question”, Trump protested. Up against Trump and more than a dozen governors, senators and House representatives, Carson faced a severe name-recognition gap.

“We are building an excellent team of staff and volunteers in Virginia who are excited about my vision to Make America Great Again!” he said.

Carson’s team did not respond to request for comment. Only 19% say the Democrats compromised the right amount and 9% say they compromised too much. “You don’t see it often”.

Carson’s Facebook presence, Dawson said, became the top of a lead-gen funnel.

Kasich pointed out the obvious: “This stuff is fantasy”. I was particularly interested in what Donald Trump had to say.

The trio and the entire debate was so pathetic CNBC’s corporate parent Comcast should quietly pull the plug on its failing business cable channel at midnight tonight, change its call letters and start showing infomercials for Snuggies 24/7.

Two hours later, Trump was back. “And I just don’t believe there’s anyone else running who has a better understanding of the issues before us now than I do”. Quintanilla inquired about Carson’s involvement with the multi-level marketing firm Mannatech after the company faced a controversial lawsuit. But it didn’t matter. And Dr. Carson was no better.
