The episode opens with the Seven Dwarfs (minus Dopey) mining underground. Geez, Emma. You could have said, “Please”.

She asked Hook if he loved her. If he didn’t, she would let him go. She took Happy’s ax back to Excalibur. Since she’s no longer a hero, she doesn’t possess the power to remove it. But unfortunately for her, the axe – which can normally cut through anything – doesn’t work either. But who is it?
Rumpelstiltskin wakes up to see Emma standing over him.
Team Savior (Regina, Mary Margaret, David, Emma and Belle) manage to find a way to possibly communicate with Merlin, who may be the tree or just surrounded by one, as far as they can tell.
The situation is frustrating, but they come up with an idea that could help – talk to Merlin. The catch is that they have to find it first.
Arthur, perhaps a bit over being a part of the welcoming committee, offers to suit David up and accompany him into the woods. On his way back across, empty suits of armor rise up from the swamp to attack David and nearly succeed in pulling him into the swamp. Surely, Not!Rumple is still talking to her and taunting her. All he wants to know is what’s behind the locked door at her house.
Emma was going to stop at nothing to get Excalibur out. Fans will finally get to see Hook as a young boy in flashbacks. Leave me your thoughts in a comment below. But that’s not enough for Hook. I know you are just trying to help. I can be a far greatest nightmare than you can possibly imagine. This hunt with Arthur is basically the most useful David has felt in ages, which is no small coincidence, since this is also the most prominently the show has featured Josh Dallas in a few time. “But Arthur is doing what he thinks is best for his kingdom, and Charming has to do what’s best for his family, and that’s going to put them at odds”. A chest containing these magical devices traveled with them from Camelot. Yeah, King Arthur wasn’t exactly being the most honest person. But who? They discover that it’s none other than King Arthur’s squire. The squire says he was exhausted of the way Arthur treated him and broke into the reliquary to hurt Arthur. However, he insists that he didn’t steal a magical bean. David takes it back to Regina and the group quickly puts together a piece of the puzzle. And they can use it now.
Back in Camelot, David is knighted as a member of the Round Table. As Arthur and David plan their next move, David finds a Crimson Crown mushroom among the squire’s belongings.
Mary Margaret is happy that David is getting the recognition he deserves, but exits into the hall when baby Neil begins to cry. Horowitz, at my request, recounted how in Season 2 it was revealed that the Lancelot with whom Snow White reunited was actually Cora using a glamour spell. This guy is bad news in the past, present, and future. She needed a hero, and she had the purest one in all the land. As she’s learned, “If your name is on something, hold onto it”, she tells him when he protests.
Mary Margaret doesn’t know what to do with that information, but it looks as if Lancelot is right.
After the ceremony is over, Arthur reveals to Guineviere that he stole the mushroom off of David. He tells his wife that they must think of the kingdom first. But Arthur has another surprise in mind for David. Arthur explains that the Storybrooke folks lied to them in Camelot and brought the Dark One inside their walls.
Arthur was planning on building a new Camelot in Storybrooke. In order to make sure Griff wouldn’t repeat anything that had gone down between them, Arthur asked him to drink poison. The squire drinks the poison voluntarily, in order to keep their ruse a secret.
That wasn’t the only big shocker of episode 3 though. That’s why she went to the Jolly Roger. He was angry that there was nothing he could do to help her and anxious it was his fault. Emma says to trust her, but Emma refuses to tell him.
