One Day After Supporting Trump, Ryan Readies a Rebuke
Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan Thursday made it official; he endorsed presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. “And I spoke to him about those things”. “It’s reasoning I don’t relate to, I completely disagree with the thinking behind that”.

Now he maintains that he has “more common ground than disagreement” with Trump. “It really kind of comes down to that at the end of the day”, Ryan said. I’ve spent most of my adult life pursuing ways to help protect the “American Idea”-the notion that the condition of one’s birth does not determine the outcome of one’s life”.
Cole said the decision to endorse Trump would bolster Ryan’s main priority of protecting Republican seats in the House. “We don’t make good deals”.
Ryan said Thursday’s endorsement of Trump came after a month of meetings and discussions with Trump and his team “to make sure that Donald and his staff understood where we were going on substance”.
Some GOP leaders have declared they won’t support Trump, including 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, who had Ryan as his running mate. Freed from the constraints of courting Ryan, the red-faced screamer who appeared in San Jose Thursday night was at his most unhinged, raving about “Lyin’ Crooked Hillary” in the wake of her widely praised speech.
“We can get angry, and we can stay angry”, Ryan said in rolling the project out, “or we can channel that anger into action”. Trump has said that Judge Gonzalo Curiel is biased.
“Those conversations took some time”, he said, adding: “I feel much more comfortable that he’s in the same page with us”. The number of conservative pieces of legislation which Hillary Clinton (or even Bernie Sanders) will sign remains firmly fixed at zero. He cited Trump’s criticism last week of New Mexico’s Republican governor, Susana Martinez, considered a rising star in the party with the ability to appeal to Hispanics.
Note, when Ryan referenced the racially charged comments from “the other day”, it’s unclear exactly which day he meant.
In particular, Ryan has embraced major changes to Medicare and Social Security as his signature issue on Capitol Hill. Most Republicans in Congress have followed Ryan’s plan to reduce the cost of the popular programs, which are contributing to the national debt.
On none of those issues has Trump outlined truly conservative policies, if he has outlined policies at all.
The two candidates also both score relatively poorly on having strong moral character, being able to bring about the changes needed in the US and caring about people’s needs, Gallup found.
Meanwhile, Mrs Clinton said the United States would be making a “historic mistake” in electing Mr Trump.
“It’s no secret that [Trump] and I have our differences.
I won’t pretend otherwise”, Ryan wrote in The Janesville Gazette column.
“And so, he clearly says and does things I don’t agree with, and I’ve had to speak up on time to time when that has occurred, and I’l continue to do that if that’s necessary”, Ryan continued.
Rick Hohlt, a Washington lobbyist who has raised money for GOP presidential nominees since 1981 and plans to help Trump, said the campaign’s propensity for planning only two weeks ahead poses “a challenge for organizing some of these bigger fundraisers”.

“He said he would give military officers unlawful orders and expect them to comply”, Adler said, referring to Trump’s claim that the military would follow his orders to torture suspected terrorists.
