A cadre of local and state police investigators block off access to Mountain Laurel Road early Tuesday where a man was fatally shot during what police describe as a violent domestic confrontation. The victims, who had stab wounds as well as blunt trauma, were taken to the hospital.
The officer shot and killed the offender, and four people inside the home were hospitalized, according to the report.
Broadcast and published reports say there was a domestic violence incident that may have resulted in gunfire by a police officer.
Mountain Laurel Road is closed while police investigate.
The Connecticut State Police will assume a role in the investigation, per protocol when an officer discharges a firearm.
