Michael Harris, the son of former 49ers CEO Peter Harris, died in the collision. “He was killed early this morning in a wasteful and tragic event while a passenger in a boat that was hit near Catalina”.

“This was a young man who was real, sincere, a great listener, always interested, warm, full of humor with the attendant laughter, who sincerely loved and prized family”, his father wrote.
Authorities say one person died and three others were injured after a dinghy and a boat collided.
The U.S. Coast Guard is continuing to search for the missing boater with assistance from L.A. County Lifeguards and the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.
Coast Guard rescue crews have ended their search for a missing fisherman after his body was found near Winter Harbor Monday.
There were four people in the dinghy, including Michael’s girlfriend Kelly Wells. All of the injured were immediately flown to UCLA Medical Center, where one is being treated for a head injury and two are being treated for minor injuries.

Peter Harris’ LinkedIn account showed he was the 49ers’ CEO in 2000-2004. His family says Michael just received his masters in counseling psychology at Santa Clara University and was starting a new job as a high school counselor.
