One dead, two injured following crash north of Calgary

EMS officials say the woman died after a sedan and SUV collided on Highway 566 on Wednesday afternoon.

She was transported in potentially life-threatening condition, via ground EMS to the Foothills Medical Centre suffering from various external and internal injuries. He also received internal and external injuries considered potentially life-threatening.

In one of the vehicles, a woman in her 20s was sent to hospital, while a man and a woman, both in their 40s, were also transported.

At this location, they found a motor vehicle collision involving a sedan and sport utility vehicle (SUV), resulting in significant damage to both.

“The highway is now closed for emergency response and investigation”, RCMP said in a release.

Meanwhile, police and paramedics were called to Yankee Valley Boulevard and Highway 2 in Airdrie to another crash between two cars at about 3:30 p.m.

The second crash involved a motorcyclist near Cross Iron Mills.
