Career of Evil is the third book in JK’s Cormoran Strike series – published under the pen name Robert Galbraith. Soon it is implied that Niall was Kelsey’s imaginary lover because she was “obsessed” with him and the group. However, her family reveal that she didn’t have actually have a boyfriend, as her relationship with Niall Horan was all in her head. Strike was at a loss to understand why Kelsey’s boyfriend might not have been called Niall and his incomprehension showed. Her imagination got so out of control surrounding Niall Horan and the One Direction lads that she wrote sick, weird pieces about her being willing to have her leg cut off so she could attend one of their gigs.

“One Direction”, she said over the top of her tissue. “Sorry”, said Strike, completely at sea.

‘The band. They’re a band that came third on The X Factor. She’s obsessed – she was obsessed – and Niall was her favorite.

In the excerpt, Hazel says: “She said his name was Niall”. The four-piece, consisting of Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, will release their fifth studio album Made In The A.M. on 13 November 2015.
