“One Direction” boy band member Liam Payne and long-time girlfriend Sophia Smith have split up, but the four-member group still pushed through in a concert only hours after Payne’s heartbreak. Details regarding why the couple split up after two years of dating are not clear.

They first met at Wolverhampton, England when they were still students.
While the 22-year-old singer has not publicly addressed his breakup, he did tweet something on Friday that may have hinted that there was trouble in paradise.
Insiders’ claim Sophia wants to keep things amicable and hopes she and Liam will stay friends.
Meanwhile, Liam’s split from Sophia, 21, comes as a shock as just last month he admitted they had discussed marriage.
The two were first linked in August 2013.
The band did indeed to cancel an On The Road Again Tour show in Belfast October 20 after Liam Payne became ill at the last-minute.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Louis Tomlinson revealed that he and Liam Payne will be writing music during One Direction’s hiatus next year. “And I’m sure we’ll all see each other over time”, he added. “She was very shy and didn’t give much indication that she liked me, so I just assumed that she wasn’t interested, as well as thinking, she was way too hot for me anyway”, the singer told Attitude in September. “I don’t want her to be one of those stay-at-home girlfriends who doesn’t really do much”, he told the mag.

The Sun on Thursday even went so far as to speculate that the real reason behind Payne’s no-show was because he had suffered a meltdown after being unable to cope with the pressures of fame. While Liam hasn’t said anything about it on Twitter, he did seem to make mention during 1D’s concert in Newcastle.
