Apple’s iTunes Festival has transmogrified into the Apple Music Festival, to be held as London’s Roundhouse in September 2015, with the performances once again to be broadcast online worldwide free of charge – live or on-demand via Apple Music. Behind-the-scenes teases will also be posted to Apple Music Connect. Those looking to apply can do so through the Apple Music app or through iTunes, though the system is currently unavailable. It is also notably shorter than the typical 30 days of concerts.
Apple announced Tuesday that the musicians will be among the headlining performers at the 10-night festival at London’s Roundhouse that begins Sept. 19. Apple’s Eddy Cue said: “We wanted to do something really special for music fans this year”. While Apple Music is priced differently across the world (it is as cheap as per month India) and due to land on Android soon, it remains to be seen how it will fare once the trial period is over – particularly since the likes of Spotify offer a free, ad-supported tier which Apple’s service doesn’t.
“We’re super excited to play our first ever show for Apple Music Festival at the Roundhouse, one of our favorite venues in London”.
