One Direction release music video for new single Drag Me Down

For their first video since Zayn Malik left in March, One Direction were given unprecedented access to the NASA Space Centre in Houston, Texas.

Of course, the 1D fandom erupted with a flood of excited and ecstatic tweets when the video dropped as a surprise this morning, and the #DragMeDownMusicVideo hashtag is already trending on Twitter (beware, excessive use of caps lock).

Check back soon for more One Direction news. They are rich and young and have such lustrous, thick hair – even Niall, despite his countless, well-documented bleaching sessions – which they all backcombed straight to high Heaven for this specific music video.

Each pop star tries his hand at real-life training exercises in the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility, completely taking over the training centre.

The boys literally go out of this world as they transform into astronauts and are sent into orbit in the video for Drag Me Down. There is so much subtlety, such depth in this video. “Thank you for all your fantastic support on this single”. It would be blatantly unfair to single out any one member, you know? Further, have you ever seen a young man so convincingly masquerade about as the reanimated corpse of Mick Jagger, and look this good doing it?

Millions of messages about the video have been posted online, and for instance, one Directioner wrote, “THIS IS YET BY FAR THE GREATEST MUSIC VIDEO OF THE BOYS DONT LIE”.
