One Direction’s Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan & Liam Payne will part ways following the release of their fifth studio album later this year.

One Direction are planning to temporarily disband for a year in March to focus on solo projects, it has been reported.

They also add that the band is not breaking up permanently. “Then I hope they’ll have a little bit of time apart and want to get back together again”.

After an incredible run for five years they are working on their individual projects for a while.

It’s believed the break and the decision not to tour was rubber-stamped at a meeting in London last weekend. The group will reportedly stay together until next March, and “the source” is quick to note that the band’s hiatus is probably not permanent.

The news of this hiatus comes just days after the band, minus Zayn Malik, released a new single Drag Me Down.

They shot the video at the NASA Space Centre in Houston, Texas and pulled out all of the stops to make it pretty epic.

And they’re apparently prepared to give it their all to promote their fifth albums – short of embarking on another monster world tour of course. It means they could each take their money-spinning careers on very different journeys in talks that could get under way within weeks.

No matter what the band do next, their millions of fans will be at the ready to support any direction they go down.

“But they’re all going to be successful in their own right”.
