On the homefront, chalk up a point to One Direction over Justin Bieber.

Bieber released objective, on which the often-troubled 21-year-old reflects on life in the public eye, the same day that British boy band One Direction – whose fan base is seen as overlapping with Bieber’s – put out its own album Made in the A.M. With streaming and downloads that figure hikes up to 628,806 total consumption units for the week ending November 19.
The chart also features five other songs from Bieber’s new album, making him the only living artist to have so many entries simultaneously.
After objective took over No. 1 spots on iTunes charts around the world during the first week of its release – most of these slipped to No. 2 following Adele’s roll out of 25 – Bieber’s record debuted at No. 1 on national album charts in Australia, Norway, Sweden, New Zealand, and the Netherlands.
It gets better for Bieber. No other male artist has achieved this in 34 years, since John Lennon in January 1981 with Imagine (1), Happy Xmas (War Is Over) (3) and (Just Like) Starting Over (5) following his tragic death.
Justin Bieber has ousted Adele from the top of the UK Singles Chart with Sorry, and broken a new Official Chart record in the process.
Former United Kingdom number one album If I Can Dream by Elvis Presley was in third place this week, while Alone in the Universe by Jeff Lynne’s ELO entered the chart at four.
Bieber shifted an impressive 104,000 combined chart sales to claim this week’s Number 1, including a massive 5.35 million streams, a new personal best for the Canadian star.
Over on the Official Albums Chart, One Direction have scored the fastest-selling album of the year, and a fourth number one, with Made In The AM.
Their first record as a four piece is the fastest-selling album of the year.
They achieved first-week chart sales of 93,189 to ensure their fifth studio album beat the record previously held by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds long-player, Chasing Yesterday.
