One Officer Hurt, One Suspect Dead After Atlantic City Shooting

“Our officer is doing remarkably well”, he said.
The shooting unfolded around 2:30 a.m. when New Jersey police stumbled upon a robbery while patrolling near the casino’s parking garage.
In a series of tweets, Atlantic City Police later said all five of the men had been either arrested or located following the CCTV appeal, and three had been released with no charge.
A man was shot dead and a police officer was gunned down after cops interrupted an armed robbery near to a casino. That suspect was found about a block and a half away. Martell Chisholm, 19, of Millville, and Demetrius Cross, 28, of Bridgeton, were taken to the Atlantic County jail. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
The cop is reportedly in a critical condition undergoing surgery, while police continue to hunt two suspects.
The three men who were the robbery victims cooperated with investigators and were released, officials said. They’re each charged with attempted murder, robbery and weapons offenses. “This is an active investigation”, the department said on Twitter. “I was on scene shortly after the incident happened, and by daybreak we had hundreds of law enforcement personnel from around the state here in Atlantic City offering to do whatever they could to help”.
Overnight, officers from several area departments responded. “Now it’s time for us to pray for them”.
The wounded officer was shot and injured. Please see our terms of service for more information.
