Two suspects are on the run after a shooting and knife attack in Cologne city centre, it is reported.

The paper said several people had told the police shortly before 4am (local time) that three or four people seemed to be having problems with another man.
Authorities said it was too early to say if there was an Islamic terrorist motive behind the incident in the city’s old town.
Cologne hit the headlines eight months ago after dozens of women reported being sexually assaulted near the central train station on New Year’s Eve. The other two suffered light wounds.
Germany has been on high alert after a string of attacks in the summer, including when teenager Ali David Sonboly killed nine people in Munich on July 23.
One man was reportedly stabbed and then tried to flee in his auto, only to be shot at by the other two men.

He managed to get behind the wheel and drive away but was stopped by police a few hundred yards away.
