One Shot In Second Night Of Riots In Milwaukee
The shooting occurred near the location of an August 9 double homicide in which a man was shot dead and another was fatally stabbed, police said. It wasn’t immediately clear if the wounded man was a protester.

More than 100 people holding candles and paper signs reading “BlackLivesMatter” had gathered early Sunday night at a local park, then marched to the site of the shooting.
The force said officers were making “multiple” arrests.

This weekend’s shooting in Milwaukee was distinct in that the deceased was armed, according to the police account.
Police say Sylville Smith and another person ran from the cops who pulled them over at a traffic stop. “Get them home right now before more damage is done”, the mayor said.
Fourteen people were arrested.
“It is also important for citizens to know that Wisconsin is the first state in the nation to have a law requiring an independent investigation anytime there is a shooting by a law enforcement officer that leads to a death”, Walker said Sunday in a statement, announcing his decision.
“I think people probably feel like they’re finally being heard”, Lee said.
Flynn said one 16-year-old female had been shot – possibly by a stray bullet – and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
“I’m very hurt”, said Patrick Smith. A vehicle was set ablaze and more shots were reported, according to police. Smith was accused in a shooting past year and charged with recklessly endangering safety, a felony.
Smith’s sister, Kimberly Neal, told The Associated Press the family wants prosecutors to file charges against the officer.
The shooting was being investigated by the state.
