One stat that proves A.J. Green dominated Darrelle Revis on Sunday
“I’m fine”, Revis insisted Tuesday. “On the busted coverage [for a 54-yard touchdown], I’m supposed to get help. It’s just getting back to the X’s and O’s of things and just correcting certain things, and that’s just about it”.

Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis was completely outclassed by Bengals star receiver A.J. Green, who finished with 12 catches for 180 yards.
This was the end for the Jets, the moment their Week 1 optimism turned into a gut-punch of a 23-22 loss to the Bengals.
Revis did, however, acknowledge the Week 17 loss and the effect it had on him. Whether it’s a starter whose performance flew a bit under the radar, or a player who stepped in admirably for a starter, many factors are considered. Still, this wasn’t a good outing by Revis, and even he admits it.
Revis said he thought about the defeat “a lot” during the offseason.
Revis said it’s not weird to be fielding so many questions about what went wrong and what needs to be fixed.
“I think I told you: We’ve moved on to Buffalo”, Bowles said. “I felt like that was the big difference in the game today, not taking advantage of some of those opportunities for us and settling for field goals”. “It was just poor execution and I don’t think it had anything to do with not being prepared and not being on the same page”.
“I don’t know what pressure is”, Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall said.
Baltimore welcomed back quarterback Joe Flacco, who missed most of the season a year ago due to injury, and he went 22-for-34 for 258 yards with a touchdown. He’s a first-ballot Hall of Famer for sure.
Anytime you can get a win on the road, youve got to take these games, said Dalton, who was sacked a career-high seven times. “My job is to keep guys to the minimum if I’m covering them, the minimum catches – and that’s what you want from the whole secondary, all of us”. It was Zampese’s first game as coordinator after spending 13 seasons as Bengals quarterbacks coach, including the past five years helping to mentor Dalton.
“He had a great game”, Revis said. That’s where he’d be coming down from. “I don’t know how far that is”.
Maybe there are still some true believers out there, but too many times over the years I’ve prayed for the Jets to “just make one play” to no avail.
Revis looking overmatched against Green sparked memories of his struggles against receivers like Sammy Watkins and DeAndre Hopkins in 2015 along with discussion about whether the Jets need to change the way they deploy Revis on a weekly basis.
“He’s pretty sharp mentally”, Bowles said, “and understands how people are trying to come at him”. He isn’t used to seeing it on the back of his opponent’s.
The second quarter included a pair of touchdowns, one by each team, starting with a 54-yard touchdown from Fitzpatrick to Green to give the Bengals a 10-7 lead. We don’t have time to talk about it now. “Certain games will require that”.
The next couple of series for the Jets were a success, mostly. I’m fine, man. It’s a long season.
Every week, we take a look at how all four teams in the division performed, and the current division standings. We’ve got to move forward.
Heading into a game against the division-rival Buffalo Bills on a short week, it will be interesting to see how the Jets play this. Nobody mentioned his game, or that JJ Watt only had one tackle and one QB hit.
