OnePlus 2 Gets Official, Prices Start At $329
OnePlus has launched the much awaited OnePlus 2 in the world’s first virtual reality event, which started with the company’s co-founder Carl Pei discussing about the new smartphone. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display and is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset that has an octa-core CPU, 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB on-board storage. OnePlus 2 will also feature a USB type-C reversible connector, two nano-SIM card slots, in addition to a silent switch with three positions: ringer off, ringer on and ringer meant for top priority contacts. The device is priced at Rs 24,999 and will be available from August 11 via online retailer Amazon through the invite-only model.

The OnePlus 2 will initially go on sale in India, China, the US, Canada, and select EU countries on August 11. The second smartphone from OnePlus, the OnePlus 2 uses OxygenOS, a variant of Android 5.1 developed by the company, instead of Cyanogen OS. OnePlus has totally changed the definition of budget smartphones, making it cost-efficient and loaded with high-specs and good features. In terms of design, the Oneplus 2 is a looker and will come with Style Soft covers like the previous model, but with more options including Bamboo, Rosewood, Black Apricot, and Kevlar. Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus announces today that it is releasing its new flagship.
In the photography department, the OnePlus 2 features a 13-megapixel camera at the back with f/2.0 aperture, 4K video shooting capabilities, dual-LED flash, optical image stabilization (OIS), as well as laser autofocus similar to what we have seen on the LG G4.
Another way to get an invite is to be invited by someone who has already managed to buy a OnePlus 2.
Under the hood, it has a non-removable 3,300 mAh battery, which we believe will take you through the entire day without any worries.
If you’ve never heard of the OnePlus One, don’t feel bad – we’re not here to judge.

OnePlus says the new operating system will give you a “pure Android experience”, which means it won’t be packed with all of those extra apps and themes that companies like Samsung and LG load on their Android phones. A 16GB version of the OnePlus 2 with 3GB of RAM will follow shortly thereafter for $329.
