While 30,000 OnePlus Cardboard viewers were sent to fans past year for the launch, this the company has announced the OnePlus Loop VR Headset “for a more robust, immersive and comfortable experience”. This year, consumers who visit OnePlus’s new virtual marketplace – which will be known as The Loop – will receive the first opportunity to buy the OnePlus 3.

Forget about heading down to the shops to grab a OnePlus 3 – the upcoming “flagship killer” will be sold in virtual reality.
Excitement for the OnePlus 3 is building at the moment with rumors of NFC connectivity, an upgraded processor and a brand new design. “Inspired by a certain fan video, we took to our imagination of where OnePlus would be decades from now, having moved our headquarters to space”. There’s also a built-in strap, making it easy to enjoy longer VR experiences.
“We believe we, and the tech industry as a whole, have only scratched the surface of what can be done in VR, and there’s much more immersive experiences to be had”, said OnePlus cofounder Carl Pei. OnePlus will also be giving out VR headset for free (shipping extra) in the US/Europe and just Re 1 (shipping extra) in India via Amazon, and the sale for these will be held on 3rd of June and 7th of June.

On a side note, we tried booking a free headset ourselves, and while we could add it to the cart, we couldn’t ship to any other country other than the USA, which was a let-down.
