While we recently heard the rumours of OnePlus 5 being launched soon, the Chinese company seems to have finally chose to reveal a bit of information officially.

While past rumours have suggested a 23-megapixel rear camera, recent rumours now claim that the dual rear camera on the OnePlus 5 will feature a pair of 12-megapixel sensors (standard RGB + monochrome). The naming inconsistency (the company skipped OnePlus 4) was rumored to be because of how unlucky number “4” is according to the Chinese Tradition. Also, the OnePlus 5 will technically be the fifth phone produced by the company.

The publication also claims that OnePlus has detailed that the name of the upcoming OnePlus 3 successor was based on the jersey number of Robert Horry, former National Basketball Association player. The OnePlus 5 is believed to the successor to last year’s flagship devices, the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T, and features a 5.5-inch HD display. Earlier this week, a new leak indicated that the phone will come with a 3400 mAh battery, bigger than the one seen on OnePlus 3T.

Hence, you need to wait only two months more if you are keen to grab this one as soon as it will hit the market.

The company confirmed the name of the phone to be the OnePlus 5. There are large portraits of Robert Horry hanging in their Shenzhen office. Overall, these images show that the phone will look similar to the OnePlus 3 and 3T, barring minor tweaks here and there. Other specs listed include 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB or 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies. A fingerprint scanner is also said to be part of the device’s features and it will be located at the front. Moreover, the OnePlus 5 with even powerful specs than the Galaxy S8 is available for a practical rate and would surely be a compelling alternative to Samsung’s latest devices.
