After releasing that pretty sweet intro video, the OnePlus team revealed little by little more about their “2016 flagship killer”, and we’ve got all the details to share with you.
Elsewhere, there’ a USB-C port for fast charging, as well as a fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 4.1 and capacity for two SIMs – however there’s no NFC capability, so you won’t be able to use the OnePlus 2 for mobile payments.
In terms of availability, the OnePlus 2 will be launching on August 11 in the US, Canada, India, Europe, and China.
The other really cool thing about the OnePlus 2 is its “Alert Slider” button, a hardware toggle that will let you switch between audible notifications, vibrations, and no notifications while the phone is in your pocket.
OnePlus has provided Android Lollipop-based OxygenOS on the OnePlus 2 with some of its proprietary features like screen gestures and dark mode. Also, a 5-megapixel camera sensor is available on the front. From a standard Sandstone-Black, in seconds, to a Kevlar or Bamboo back plate. Visitors will get to try out the OnePlus 2, ask questions, and could even win an invite.
OnePlus, the obscure smartphone company, is trying to trump the industry leaders once again with the sequel to its popular and exclusive debut device. The new handset flaunts a 13 megapixel camera that comes with features like dual-LED flash, laser autofocus and optical image stabilization. For the OnePlus 2, on the other hand, OnePlus lowered the 13-megapixel snapper a bit to provide a few centimeters of space between the top edge and the camera panel. The $329 model includes 16GB of storage and 3GB of RAM, while another $60 will boost you to 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. Over the weekend, OnePlus officially opened the invite system by allowing everyone to register for the reservation list. The device is powered by a 3300 mAh non-removable battery.
OnePlus is offering a variety of swappable back covers for you to customize the OnePlus 2 to your liking.
