China based smartphone maker OnePlus, which scheduled the launch of OnePlus 2 on July 27 has confirmed that it will continue to use the invite system for buying the new smartphone on its official website. It will sport dual 4G Nano-SIM cards (dual-SIM dual standby), as well as USB Type-C connectivity (with the cable reversible at both ends).
The OnePlus 2 will feature a 5.5-inch in-cell display with a full-HD (1080×1920 pixel) resolution and 1500:1 contrast ratio.
Are you impressed by what the OnePlus 2 is bringing to the table?
Its casing is made from an aluminium-magnesium alloy with stainless steel accents, and is available in black as well as bamboo, black apricot, rosewood and kevlar wood finishes.
If you were following along with the hype, you already know that the OnePlus 2 is powered by a 64-bit, 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 4GB of RAM. However, more fascinating thing about the smartphone is the price tag just like the last time.
OnePlus, the Chinese upstart that sold more than 1.5 million of its first smartphone, is back with a sequel.
OnePlus 2 comes with a home brewed OxygenOs, a customized version of Android Lollipop, it offers tons of features and is highly customisable. Below the display is hardware button that houses a fingerprint scanner, which the company says is faster than the iPhone’s TouchID and lets users save up to five fingerprints. And as was the case with OnePlus One, this one too packs a hell lot of punch. Pricing for the OnePlus 2 will be set at $329 for the 3GB/32GB model and $389 for the 4GB/64GB version.
But the OnePlus 2 gets a new 13-megapixel camera, with optical image stabilization (OIS) to help make sure that photos look sharp even if the camera shakes. Suppose, if you own a VR headset like Google Cardboard or OnePlus’s Cardboard, you can directly experience the launch event through the virtual reality.

The OnePlus 2 is a millimeter shorter and narrower than its predecessor, but also a bit thicker, giving the phone some unwanted heft. The 64 GB variant will hit the US on August 11th with the 16 GB version to launch later.
