OnePlus Mini leak suggests it’s not small – but still impressive
And if you’re a OnePlus 2 owner, would you be mad if the Mini featured NFC?

The Smartphone is said to feature a 5-inch IPS display with full-HD 1080×1920 pixels resolution Display. That panel is of the 2.5D variety and will be covered in Gorilla Glass with hydrophobic and oleophobic coating.
A recent report from Gizmochina claimed a device named OnePlus X will arrive in October with a smaller display and the same processor as the OnePlus 2.
Leaked renders posted to Chinese website Mobile-dad.com have revealed the OnePlus Mini might look similar to other devices in OnePlus’ lineup.
Before we get started, you’ll want to take these OnePlus mini rumors with a dose of salt. On top of that, the phone will support Quick Charge via the USB Type-C port and will be kept alive by a 3,000 mAh or 3,100 mAh battery. It will also house a 5 MP front-facing wide-angle sensor with 1080p video recording capabilities.

According to the report, the OnePlus Mini will offer 32GB of expandable internal storage (eMMC 5.0) and sport a 13-megapixel rear camera (Sony’s IMX258 sensor, f/2.0 aperture) with dual-LED, dual tone flash, alongside a 5-megapixel (wide-angle) front facing camera. The source also adds that the main camera may or may not make use of Mediatek’s 1080p@480fps Super Slow Motion recording. Content Aware Backlight Control (CABC) is also present in the display and MediaTek calls it the “Smart Screen”. And allegedly, MediaTek will release the kernel source. If the rumour is right, the device should be priced at US$250 and should be available come November or December. As for the accuracy of these rumors, the source warns us that the prototype detailed above is a couple of months old already, and certain hardware characteristics may have changed in the meantime. One of the biggest complaints regarding the OnePlus 2 – aside from the silly invite-based purchase system – was lack of NFC, but the company will apparently fix that in an upcoming smartphone whose specs sheet seems to have been leaked. Treat the information accordingly and maintain a healthy dose of skepticism.
