XDA got in touch with OnePlus and conducted an interview in which OnePlus’ revealed its plans to combine the two operating systems into what OnePlus now calls the Community Build 3.5.1.
The ROM is now available for download and installation, but you can expect it to be buggy. OnePlus, for now, has not decided on what would be the official name of the new ROM, but it has told XDA why it plans to do the same.
If you are a OnePlus 2 user, then you should have the update by now.
A week ago, OnePlus has released OxygenOS 3.5 Community Build for the OnePlus 3, but users have started complaining about some issues, so an update was brought to fix all problems, but it came with other improvements, as well. The Chinese company now offers two different versions of its Android software for different markets, but they will soon become one.
OnePlus now relies heavily on user feedback for the changes brought to Oxygen OS and states that users who aren’t that pleased with the change should shift to “stock” ROMs and CyanogenMod, which are easily installed using an unlocked bootloader.
“The main benefit of combining our team resources is to speed up software updates”. As a result, OnePlus chose to not only merge its two Android skins, but the teams behind them as well in an effort to speed up updates. We’ll be sure to let you know when we hear more.

Internationally, OnePlus offers something unique that could even be called a Google Nexus-like experience with an nearly stock-looking UI.
